Ares Original Art - Page 3

The God of War. Ares is a major antagonist for Wonder Woman. Visually, he is often depicted in Greek armor, sometimes with a helmet that hides his face in darkness with glowing red eyes. George Pérez redesigned him as a hulking armored figure, a design that influenced the movie.

Art featuring Ares is epic and mythological. He feeds on conflict, so he is often shown orchestrating wars from the shadows or growing to giant size on the battlefield. He represents the endless cycle of violence.

He is the son of Zeus and brother to Wonder Woman (in New 52 canon). He is a threat to the entire Justice League.
