Nathan Summers is the soldier from the future. Cable is the son of Cyclops and Madelyne Pryor, sent to the future to be cured of a techno-organic virus. He returned as a grizzled warrior with a glowing eye and a metal arm. Created by Rob Liefeld, he is the poster boy for 90s comics—big guns, pouches, and shoulder pads.

He leads X-Force and the New Mutants. His partnership with Deadpool is a classic "odd couple" dynamic. Artists love drawing the texture of his techno-organic arm and his heavy weaponry.
