Dark Agnes Original Art

Agnes de Chastillon, known as Dark Agnes, is another Robert E. Howard creation who predates Red Sonja. A 16th-century French swordswoman who rejected arranged marriage to live by the blade. Her art is swashbuckling and gritty, often set against historical backdrops of Renaissance France rather than the Hyborian Age.

While less famous than Sonja, Agnes is the "original" redhead warrior. Marvel's recent adaptation by Becky Cloonan brought her to a new audience. Collectors seek pages that highlight her fencing skills and her defiance of gender norms.

She shares a spiritual lineage with Red Sonja and often crosses over in Howard-verse events with Conan and Solomon Kane.
