Irene Adler, Destiny, is a blind precog who can see the future. She is the long-time partner (and wife) of Mystique. Visually, she is often depicted as an older woman with a golden mask and crossbow. Her diaries contain the future history of mutantkind, driving plotlines for decades.
She is a key figure in the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants. Her relationship with Mystique is one of the earliest queer relationships in comics (though coded for years). She is the adoptive mother of Rogue.
Her death and resurrection are major events. She is a strategist, not a fighter, but her predictions make her dangerous to the X-Men.
