Psylocke is a name shared by two women: Betsy Braddock and Kwannon. For decades, Betsy (a British telepath) was trapped in the body of Kwannon (a Japanese ninja), creating the iconic "Jim Lee Psylocke" look—purple swimsuit, sash, psychic knife.

Visually, the psychic knife (a glowing pink blade of energy) is one of the coolest powers in X-Men comics. She is a stealth assassin and a brawler. Recently, they were split back into two bodies: Betsy became Captain Britain, and Kwannon kept the Psylocke title. She represents the 90s X-Men aesthetic: sexy, deadly, and complicated.
