For my very first take on Zatanna I wanted to capture her in a moment where stage illusion becomes real sorcery. I focused on the duality of her classic tuxedo vs. the chaotic power of her magic. She's looking right at you, inviting you into the spell ✨
The Technique:
The challenge on this piece was creating the glowing blue of the magic and having it reflect against the skin tones and the texture of the hat and outfit. I pushed the depth with the swirling cards to create a dynamic effect, making sure the magic feels like it’s almost leaping off the cover.
