KICK-ASS ORIGINAL ART SIGNED JOHN ROMITA JR. & SCOTT HANNA

This item on 8.5x11 board is a hand-drawn head sketch of Kick-Ass from the 2010 film of the same name by the artist of the first comic book series (2008) that inspired it, the legendary super star artist JOHN ROMITA JR. (along with writer MARK MILLAR) and signed by John. John's prolific, award-winning partner SCOTT HANNA hand-inked the piece, added some gray wash (over original pencils, not a blueline) and signed it, including John's signature in ink. This was donated by both artists at the 2025 Heroes Con to support the non-profit Inkwell Awards.

Appreciation is also given to the Joe Kubert Art Store and Bags Unlimited Inc. for their usual support.

The Inkwell Awards (www.inkwellawards.com) is the only official 501(c)(3) non-profit organization whose mission is to promote and educate regarding the art form of comic-book inking, as well as annually recognize the best ink artists and their work. Established in 2008, the Inkwells are overseen by a volunteer committee of industry professionals and assisted by various professional ambassadors and contributors. They sponsor the Dave Simons Inkwell Memorial Scholarship Fund for the Kubert School and host the Joe Sinnott Hall of Fame Award. Their annual awards ceremony has been hosted by the Hershey Comic Con since 2024.
