Original comic art auctions are one the most exciting parts of being a Raremarq member, and it's one of the areas of Raremarq where we've spent the most time investing. And, as we develop more features, our north star has been answering one simple question, "How do we make it as easy as possible for buyers to bid and win original art auctions?"
And one of the biggest pain points we wanted to alleviate is letting people bid quickly and easily without thinking how much to bid. This is why we have our easy slide-to-bid functionality that allows you to bid the next increment with the swipe of your finger.
But one question you might have is, "What are the bidding increments?" And so in this post, we'll break down the tiers of our bidding increments and what the price has to be to reach each level.
Our bidding increments start at just $1 increments if the current bid or list price of an auction is below $30, but at a higher list price or when the current bid reaches certain milestones, our bidding increments get larger. Below is a full breakdown of the bidding increments:
- Below $30: $1
- $30 - $50: $2
- $50 - $99: $3
- $100 - $299: $5
- $300 - $999: $10
- $1000 - $1999: $20
- $2000 or more: $50
Understanding the Raremarq bidding increments is incredibly important as you figure out how best to win your original comic art auctions, and we hope this breakdown gets you closer to winning your auctions and securing your grails!
A valid shipping address and default payment method are required to bid.
Slide the bid slider all the way to the right to make a bid at the suggested amount. Sliding will instantly create a bid, and the next bid amount will be based on the current bid and the next increment:
You can create a max bid to bid automatically for you up to your max bid.
If a bid is made near the end of an auction, the auction end time will be extended by 30 seconds to prevent sniping.
By sliding to bid, you commit to buy the listing if you are the winning bidder. If you are the winner, we will charge your default payment method 24 hours after the auction ends, or you can complete payment early by visiting the order detail page. If your default payment method fails or you fail to make payment for an auction you've won, your account will be at risk of being frozen.
