Nerd Crawler, the premier art site for selling original comic art with the #1 app for real-time original comic art alerts, has launched Auctions--a new auction platform for original comic art buyers and sellers. In cooperation with Big Wow Art and Frank Cho, Nerd Crawler’s auctions have raised thousands to help victims of the Maui fires, and today, they’ve added an original Power Girl piece by Frank Cho for auction that is expected to raise even more.

Auctions on Nerd Crawler was built with the sole purpose of creating a better way for artists, art representatives, and collectors to sell and buy original comic art. Auctions is a first-of-its-kind platform that has no transaction fees (versus 10-20% fees from the other auction platforms). And, whenever someone bids, Nerd Crawler adds 30 seconds to the auction end time, helping sellers capture the true value of their piece, and buyers do not have to worry about bots or auction snipers snatching the piece out from under them.

“I’ve been collecting original comic art for over a decade, and I wanted to use my technical background to build a new platform to help the community,” said Chris Tung—founder of Nerd Crawler. “With Auctions, I’m so excited to start the next phase of Nerd Crawler, connecting comic fans, artists, and artist representatives with one another to buy and sell art.”

Nerd Crawler’s pilot participants include Steven Morger of Big Wow Art and Emmy-award winner Frank Cho, superstar artist-writer at Marvel Entertainment, DC Comics, Image Comics and AWA Studios. Morger has already used Auctions to raise thousands to help victims of the recent Maui fires, and today, Frank Cho has begun listing auctions starting with a Power Girl piece where 100% of the proceeds will be donated to Maui Comic Con and Maui Fire relief.

“Before Nerd Crawler, I would host auctions on the Big Wow Art Facebook group, which worked but were very time-consuming,” said Morger of Big Wow Art. “With Auctions on Nerd Crawler, Chris has made a platform that is easy to use, has zero transaction fees, and provides modern tech features like customer relationship management and seller analytics. It’s a no-brainer to use!”

“I’m excited to work with Chris and Nerd Crawler to auction a Power Girl piece and use the proceeds to help those impacted by the Maui fires,” said Frank Cho, superstar artist-writer at Marvel Entertainment, DC Comics, Image Comics and AWA Studios. “It was really easy to create my official Nerd Crawler account, and I definitely plan to use Nerd Crawler to auction and sell more art and books.”
