Tell us about yourself and what got you interested in drawing

So, for those who don’t know me, I was born and raised in Athens, Greece, and for the past ten years I’ve been living in the U.S., working with comic book publishers like Dynamite Entertainment, Zenescope, Coffin Comics, Archie and others. I’ve been drawing for as long as I can remember and as I got older, what I enjoyed most was illustrating female characters mostly sexy pin-up girls. I officially started collaborating with American publishers in 2011, with my first cover going to Zenescope, although a few years before that I had already made a small appearance through some art books.

Who were some of your early inspirations?

Some years ago, I came across a book full of pin-up girls by Gil Elvgren and I realized that this was something that really suited me. I’ve also always loved and still love the work of Hajime Sorayama.

These days, I also admire a lot of other artists, but I’d rather not name anyone so I don’t risk leaving someone out especially since I know quite a few of them personally, and they already know I admire their work.

What are some of your favorite projects you’ve worked on?

In recent years, I’ve been working with Dynamite, mainly doing covers for Vampirella. It’s something I truly enjoy, because the company has given me a certain amount of creative freedom to bring my ideas to life without too many restrictions. She’s a character who has been drawn by so many artists, in almost every pose and with countless different themes, yet she always stays interesting and every time feels like a new challenge.

Favorite character(s) to draw?

As I mentioned earlier, my favorite character is Vampirella, for all the reasons I’ve already talked about. I also couldn’t leave out Lady Death and Hellwitch from Coffin Comics. In general, anything with a spooky, Halloween vibe is something I absolutely love.

Of course, I’m also a big fan of characters from classic fairy tales like Belle, Cinderella, and Snow White, but naturally in their more grown-up versions

What are you currently working on?

Right now, I’m working on a lot of things almost at the same time. The projects I mentioned earlier, plus something new that I’m not sure I should officially announce yet, but I can give you a little hint.

If all goes well, in October there will be an exclusive cover for a retailer with a Halloween theme. It’s a collaboration between two publishers one I already work with, and another I’ve never worked with before, even though I’ve drawn that character many times as commissions. Some people might be able to guess which title I’m talking about. Either way, when the time comes, we’ll make the official announcement.
