Tell us about yourself and what got you interested in drawing

I started drawing after a baby sitter taught me and my brother how to draw stick men and that simple way to draw fish (drawn with one line…you know the one). Immediately fell in love with the idea of creating my own little worlds, which I often used to escape the world and the chaos around me growing up. I won’t bore you with the details but honestly in retrospect it was a blessing in disguise. Being hyper vigilant meant heightened observation skills and the escapism built a strong vivid imagination.

Who were some of your early inspirations?

Commander Tom, The NeverEnding Story, the Conan films, King Kong, Godzilla, horror movies, Bill Watterson, Frank Frazetta, Sam Kieth, Akira, Devilman, FLCL, dinosaur books, Ghostbusters, cartoons and toys (Bugeye!), '80s cartoons like He-Man, Visionaries, and Inhumanoids, plus '80s toy lines like M.U.S.C.L.E. and Battle Beasts (I actually bought a complete Battle Beasts set on eBay a few years back—haha). I also grew up loving classic CAPCOM artists like Bengus and Kinu, along with games like Black Tiger, Ghosts 'n Goblins, Forgotten Worlds, Metal Slug, Karnov, and The Legend of Zelda.

Honestly, there are so many inspirations I could go on and on.

Fun fact: I was lucky enough to grow up with a ton of toys, but unfortunately we went through a phase where destroying them seemed more fun than actually playing with them. Kinda stings now but we live we learn I guess…

What are some of your favorite projects you’ve worked on?

Marvel vs. Capcom 2, Capcom Fighting Jam, and the Capcom murals in their Vancouver studio and Marvel Snap. I feel like I’m forgetting one or two.

Favorite character(s) to draw?

I’m biased towards my Battle Berzerker character. I’ve been drawing him and his world since I was a young teen and he’s who I turn to when I’m frustrated or angry. I’ll just draw him wrecking a demon or two which usually helps calm me down or even cheers me up. When it’s not him I gravitate towards Venom. I feel like there’s endless ways to draw him and no matter how far I push the design it somehow still reads as Venom.

What are you currently working on?

Developing my personal projects Learning about story and writing and always working on myself as a person.

What inspired you to start using Raremarq and what are you auctioning?

I kept seeing Raremarq pop up on social media, along with so many positive reviews from artists I know and follow, so I figured it was finally time to jump in!

For my debut auction, I'm bringing two official Capcom pieces and three fan art tributes that all mean a lot to me.

The Undead Street Fighter vs. Final Fight comic cover came from a fun idea by Matt Moylan at UDON Entertainment. We wanted to create a homage to The Walking Dead (inspired by Charlie Adlard), borrowing a similar layout while leaning into Adlard's bold black-and-white storytelling style.

I'm also including my Maxx fan art piece, inspired by one of my biggest artistic influences growing up, and still one of my favorites today. RIP to the mighty Sam Kieth.

Venom is one of my go-to characters, he's always fun to draw and pose. For this piece, I used paint markers along with pen ink and Parker's ink to create a bold, high-contrast finish.

I'll also be auctioning this fun sketch page featuring Wolverine and an aggressive juggernaut Or maybe they’re just playing?

Finally, there's the Hauzer ending page from Capcom Fighting Jam. This piece represents a major milestone in my career, so I'm definitely not eager to let it go. But I wanted to go big for my debut on Raremarq.

Warzard has some of the best character designs Capcom has ever created, and Hauzer is easily one of my top three Capcom characters of all time. You can imagine how honored I was to create official artwork for the game. Sixteen-year-old me would've absolutely lost his mind.

Fun fact: Capcom actually sent scouts to my house back in the '90s when we were running an independent game studio out of my basement!
