Welcome to Our Newest Edition of Creator Spotlight!

Our recurring feature that shines a light on creators selling original art on the Raremarq marketplace, offering fans an inside look at their journeys.

Today, we’re excited to shine a spotlight on Priscillia 'Tholia' Bentza French illustrator known for her mesmerizing art style that has captivated fans across both digital and traditional media. Over the years, she has created artwork for Marvel trading cards with Upper Deck and designed artwork for Square Enix. We can’t wait to see what she creates next!

Tell us about yourself and what got you interested in drawing

If it's cute, or rainbowish, or epic, I'm in! From what I remember, I started drawing seriously right after I read Sailor Moon and played Tomb Raider. My scholarship was pure chaos, and the only thing I was willing to do during class was drawing my heroines. I was quite a lonely child and drawing these characters was a way to create a special bond with them.

Who were some of your early inspirations?

Alfons Mucha and William Morris were my earliest inspo! I discovered this art style thanks to Naoko Takeuchi, she drew a series of Sailor Moon illustrations much inspired by Mucha's Seasons, and since then Art Nouveau has been a huge part of my own style, especially on how I draw the hair. Then I fell in love with the work of Tetsuya Nomura and Joe Madureira from the 90's and 2000's, which is why I put so much care to lines in my works.

What are some of your favorite projects you’ve worked on?

Tough question actually. There are so many. My top favorite project to this date is the collection of MARVEL cards I created for the Upper Deck Company two years ago: Women of Marvel (VS) and Marvel Renditions. I love card games as collectibles – I don't play them anymore – and it was very exciting to be involved in the creation of such items. Then I think of the Guardians of the Galaxy art I created in 2022, for Eidos Montréal to celebrate the holiday season. It was a huge work, with many characters to paint, a lot of fun. It eventually has been also used on the PlayStation network to promote the last sales of 2025. But really, every project I worked on brought me much joy!

Favorite character(s) to draw?

Easy one haha! Lara Croft, with dual pistols and braid. Then I have a few others I like to draw when I can: Bayonetta, Zelda, Rogue and Poison Ivy! And Sailor Moon back in the days.

What are you currently working on?

Unfortunately I am not allowed to tell yet, it's under NDA. But in the meantime I'm busy working on several variant covers, such as Absolute Poison Ivy and Absolute Catwoman for a start. I'm also working on a series of personal illustrations with my OC, inspired by my trips in Japan and in France.

What inspired you to start using Raremarq and what are you auctioning?

Well, for a start I knew Raremarq because of Artgerm's auctions, for his usual Arttrober listings. I was simply inspired to do the same, hoping this would be the perfect opportunity for me to leave digital art a bit and get back to traditional drawing seriously. I thought using Raremarq would help me reach the appropriate community for my original art, variant or blank covers, and sketches!
