Today we’re thrilled to spotlight Stephen Segovia, a phenomenal comic book artist known for his bold, energetic style. Stephen’s dynamic work has graced series like Vampirella, Action Comics, and Hellions, along with stunning cover art for fan-favorite titles including Ultimate Wolverine, Detective Comics, Something is Killing the Children, Spawn, Moon Knight, Star Wars, and many more.
His latest covers can be found on the upcoming releases: New Avengers #6 and The Infernal Hulk #1 from Marvel, and Batgirl #14 from DC Comics.
Tell us about yourself and what got you interested in drawing
My name is Stephen Segovia, and I am an artist based in the Philippines. Drawing and painting have been passions of mine since childhood. My brother and sister also drew when we were younger, and I was inspired by them! I think it’s amazing to create something and share it with others.
Who were some of your early inspirations?
Some of my early inspirations include renowned illustrators and creators like Akira Toriyama, Masamune Shirow, Nobuhiro Watsuki, Joe Madureira, and Todd McFarlane. They are all masters in their fields!
What are some of your favorite projects you’ve worked on?
That’s a tough question because I have many favorites! However, I particularly enjoyed working on Detective Comics and The Scorched from the Spawn universe series.
Favorite character(s) to draw?
My favorite characters to draw are Spawn and Batman!
What are you currently working on?
I’m currently working on the 50th issues of King Spawn, Gunslinger Spawn, and The Scorched.
