This week, we're spotlighting the newest comic artist to use our brand-new Shopify app, Auction Now to auction rare and original items straight on his store, the one and only, Tyler Kirkham!
Tyler is a fan-favorite comic book artist celebrated for his bold and dynamic art style. Over the past two decades, he has become one of the most prominent names in comics, creating stunning covers for major publishers including Marvel, DC, and Image Comics. Fans know him best for his acclaimed work on the hit series Invincible. Later this year, Tyler will launch his all-new creator-owned series, Final Boss, published by Image Comics, where he takes on both writing and art duties.
We’re honored to be working with Tyler and giving fans the chance to bid on some truly rare items directly from him.

Who were some of your early inspirations?
I've always been heavily influenced by the early image creators—artists like Jim Lee and Marc Silvestri. But perhaps my very first artistic inspiration was Bob Ross. The fact that he could whip up a masterpiece in a mere half-hour was incredibly impressive to me. As my focus shifted, I got heavily into comic book art, where I developed a deep appreciation for Mark Texeira's work on Wolverine and, of course, absolutely everything Joe Madureira has ever drawn!
What are some of your favorite projects you’ve worked on?
Like any comic artist, I've always wanted to draw iconic characters like Superman and Batman, and I've been fortunate enough to do so. However, if I have to pick a favorite professional project it would be my time on Green Lantern. I started with DC Comics right as the title was at its peak popularity, and I was just having a great time with the character and the mythology. Beyond the big two, I also truly love working on my own creations, like my book Final Boss.
Favorite character(s) to draw?
Well I really enjoy drawing Tommy from Final Boss, there's just something special and uniquely rewarding about bringing your own creations to life. That said, when it comes to existing characters, I will absolutely jump at the chance to draw Wolverine and Venom anytime I can—they're just a blast.
What are you currently working on?
My plate is full with a lot of cover work. I have a bunch of exclusives dropping at New York Comic Con, and I'm consistently working on covers for various publishers and different projects. Right now, I'm splitting my time to focus heavily on Final Boss. My priority is ensuring that book remains consistent and comes out regularly and on time.
