Tell us about yourself and what got you interested in drawing

I’m an illustrator all the way from South Africa and have been fortunate enough to turn my passion into a career. I’m currently involved with publishers such as DC comics, Marvel comics and many others. The very ability to create visual material has always captured my attention deeply since I was a toddler. This included how engaged I could be with the challenge of problem solving. The comic universe has been the dominant source of inspiration since my teens alongside video gaming art. I enjoy various styles from both the East and West which have helped to shaped the range of my own styles I alternate between.

Who were some of your early inspirations?

Tetsuya Nomura (Final Fantasy character designer), Takuji Kawano (Tekken, Soul Calibur character designer), Yoji Shinkawa (Kojima character and mechanical designer), J. Scott Campbell, Adam Hughes, Michael Turner, and Joe Mad were my primary inspirations.

What are some of your favorite projects you’ve worked on?

For context, since 2021 my projects shifted into a far more realistic and detailed style. These were always a huge challenge in various ways. Such missions would often include skill breakthroughs with each cover from how much I would push to overcome my own weaknesses. This included just the curiosity of how far I could take things. Such projects could be an entire adventure, very rewarding but also very exhausting to undertake. Also having included models to work with was a great experience too to work as part of a team. Each cover project has been memorable in their own ways but the ones that stand out the most are, Wonder Woman: Black and Gold #1, Legend of the Dark Knight #1, Harley Quinn #24 and my latest Pop Kill #1 to name a few.

Favorite character(s) to draw?

Black Cat, Harley Quinn, Powergirl, Supergirl, but I’m super excited to get to drawing more Japanese video game characters such as, Felicia, Morrigan (Darkstalkers), Chun Li and Juri since I love their designs.

What are you currently working on?

A few traditional artworks including Poison Ivy, Batgirl, Frieren, Sam Bridges, and getting ready to launch my new online store redesign which I’ve been working on (on and off) for over a year. Udon projects are in the works too currently.
