After working closely with CGC, we're thrilled to announce that buyers can now add CGC grading to auction wins from verified artists on Nerd Crawler. This long-requested feature makes preserving and protecting incredible art easier than ever.
Whether you’re a buyer or a seller, here’s everything you need to know:
Adding CGC to your auction win is simple:
- Check for Eligibility: If an auction qualifies, you’ll see an “Add CGC” box during checkout.
- Select and Pay: Check the box, complete your payment, and you’re all set!
- We Handle the Rest: The artist will ship your piece to CGC for grading, encapsulation, and delivery directly to you.
There is an additional cost associated with adding CGC and grading times can vary (approximately 2-3 months), and when you add CGC to your order, your funds will be released from escrow to the seller once CGC confirms receipt of the piece.
Here’s how the new feature works for you as a seller:
When a buyer adds CGC to their order:
- You’ll be notified in the Order Confirmation email and on the Order Detail page.
- The Order Detail page will include CGC'ss shipping address and a link to CGC’s Creator Agreement, which you’ll need to print, fill out, and ship with the piece.
To ensure a smooth transaction for all parties:
- Funds for the sale will remain in escrow until the piece arrives at CGC
- Once the 24-hour grace period ends, funds will be released to your Nerd Crawler balance, and CGC assumes liability for the piece.
This system ensures you’re paid promptly while buyers enjoy the added convenience of professional grading.
This exciting new feature is in beta and available for auctions from verified artists only. This allows us to gather feedback, refine the process, and deliver the best possible experience for buyers and sellers alike.
So please try it out, and whether you're a buyer or a seller, please reach out to us at [email protected] if you have any questions or feedback!
A valid shipping address and default payment method are required to bid.
Slide the bid slider all the way to the right to make a bid at the suggested amount. Sliding will instantly create a bid, and the next bid amount will be based on the current bid and the next increment:
You can create a max bid to bid automatically for you up to your max bid.
If a bid is made near the end of an auction, the auction end time will be extended by 30 seconds to prevent sniping.
By sliding to bid, you commit to buy the listing if you are the winning bidder. If you are the winner, we will charge your default payment method 24 hours after the auction ends, or you can complete payment early by visiting the order detail page. If your default payment method fails or you fail to make payment for an auction you've won, your account will be at risk of being frozen.
