Nerd Crawler's Top Artists for 2024
Owning original comic art has always been the most unique way to connect the artist, the character, and the fan. Holding a one-of-one original in your hand or seeing it every day on your wall is an extraordinary feeling that every collector in the hobby understands, and we built Nerd Crawler with the goal of allowing every fan to feel that special connection with their favorite characters and creators.
In 2024, we launched Nerd Crawler to be the easiest marketplace for artists to auction their comic art directly to their fans and the easiest way for fans to connect with their favorite creators. We are so thankful that our community has grown to thousands of users, and we’re so lucky to have helped hundreds of artists earn hundreds of thousands of dollars in sales so they can continue to live their lives while also doing what they love: creating art.
As we reach the end of this year, we’d like to shine a spotlight on 22 artists who penciled, painted, and created some of the most stunning works of art that were purchased by the Nerd Crawler community. So, please join us as we congratulate and celebrate the top artist of 2024!
Adelso Corona
Adelso is a Queens, NY born and raised comic book artist currently residing in South Florida. He has worked for all the major comic book publishers as an inker/finisher and has penciled and inked numerous covers and pinups for some Indie publishers as well. Adelso joined NC this year and listed some of the most amazing Spawn pages we’ve ever seen.

Anna Zhuo
Anna was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York and currently resides in Mobile, Alabama! Anna is one of the kindest artists we’ve had the privilege of getting to know this year, and she continues to elevate the game when it comes to sketch covers and commissions. We are so lucky to call her a member of the NC artist community, and we can’t wait to see what she does next year!

Ariel Diaz
Ariel Diaz is a Dallas, Texas based artist and illustrator. With some of the most exciting variant covers released in 2024, we are still in belief that she’s self-taught! This year, she joined NC, and the Red Sonja sketch cover she listed for auction quickly became a huge hit and sold for a record amount!

Arthur Adams
Kind. Funny. Legendary. Those are three words that come to mind when we think about our experience with Art this year. And, we also want to give a special thank you to Arthur’s art rep–Jason at Essential Sequential–for his support this year. Jason and Arthur have been invaluable friends to us, and we want to congratulate them on their success. I mean…look at that Erica Slaughter!

Chris Ng
A freelance illustrator and concept artist, Chris Ng has had a great year with new variants and incentive covers announced at Dynamite Comics and DC Comics, and we’re so happy that we’ve been able to bring more of his art and sketch covers into the hands of our community of collectors.

Dave Nestler
Dave is a master of contemporary pinup art, and his ability to use smooth, photo-realistic touches while illustrating iconic comic heroes and heroines is amazing to see especially on an original work. With his takes on Black Cat, Storm, and many more, Dave has created iconic pieces this year, and we’re lucky to have been able to help him auction his work and bring them into the homes of new and existing fans.

Derrick Chew
DCWJ no longer! Derrick Chew has had an amazing year including published covers at Marvel (Ultimate X-Men, Star Wars: Legacy of Vader) and IDW (Transformers) to name a few, and his sketch covers on Nerd Crawler were so popular that he had bidders from all over the world trying to add them to their personal collections. Congrats, Derrick, on an amazing year and to an even bigger one ahead!

Ejikure
With so many awesome published covers this year, it’s hard to choose our favorites from Ejikure, but we’ll give special shout outs to his new TMNT x Naruto cover for IDW (as TMNT and Naruto fans, we’re in love!) and his Magik sketch cover he auctioned on Nerd Crawler that went for a record-breaking amount. Huge congrats to Ejikure on a great year!

Eric “Weijic” Chen
Pulling the curtain back on Nerd Crawler history for a bit, but when Eric made an account early this year, we were so excited to see his name pop up in the logs. As fans of his work, we were thrilled to allow more fans to get access to his work. And, if you check his NC profile, Eric’s continued to illustrate amazing piece after amazing piece. Congrats, Weijic, and we’re eagerly waiting for your next pieces for 2025!

Frank Cho
From starting weekly auctions in March to ending the year with amazing sketch covers for Franks-giving, Frank has shown us week after week why he’s the GOAT. We’ve probably said it a hundred times, but we’ll say it a hundred more, “Thank you, Frank, for all the amazing art this year.” And I know the winners of Frank’s pieces are so happy to add a grail from Frank to their collections.

John Royle
John Royle’s bold and dynamic artwork has graced some of the most exciting titles of 2024, and John has been able to get some of his amazing original covers into the hands of fans all over the world by auctioning them on Nerd Crawler. Kendrick “Kunkka” Lim
Kendrick Lim aka “Kunkka” is an illustrator and concept artist, who co-founded Imaginary Friends Studios (IFS) with Stanley “Artgerm” Lau. Though in high-demand, it’s hard to get an original piece from Kendrick given his busy schedule with IFS, lecturing at 3DSense Media School, and his comic cover schedule. But this year and with Nerd Crawler, so many more collectors got to add sketch covers or Arttrober originals from Kendrick.

Always consistent and always amazing, Khoi continues to try new things every time he releases a set of sketches for auction on Nerd Crawler, and his art is now in the personal collections of so many fans all over the world. Mike Hawthorne
Mike Hawthorne’s Batober event was one of our favorites of the year! Not often can fans see and get the chance to win one of 31 drawings from Mike, and each piece was so different from the last. Elegant, striking, and at times, haunting, Mike’s work continues to impress and it’s no wonder he makes this year’s list!

Hitting all-time high sales on Nerd Crawler very quickly, Miki Okazaki had a fantastic year. As a rising artist in Japan whose talent has grown tremendously each year, we think the fan excitement around her work is well earned and will only continue to grow. Congrats on an amazing year, Miki!

An artist who is always trying new things, learning new styles, and perfecting his art, Monte’s art is a celebration of imagination. From concept sketches and sketch covers all the way to licensed paintings for Star Wars, Monte proves why he is a true art maverick and that his work can transcend genres.

Ryan has listed and sold some amazing covers this year including this iconic Godzilla cover for the 70th anniversary. And, behind the scenes, Ryan has been an invaluable member to our community, helping us test new features and helping us build a better platform for artists to use. Sabine Rich
Germany-based artist, Sabine Rich, joined the NC community this year, and so many fans were thrilled by the announcement! Unless you’re able to attend a convention where she’s tabling, it’s very difficult to get an original from Sabine, but this year, her fans were able to win Sabine’s takes on Black Cat, Rogue, and many more. Congrats, Sabine, and we can’t wait to see more bunny and octopus remarks!

Scott Koblish
Scott had an amazing year with one of his biggest achievements being his 4 wrap-around covers for X-Men that interconnect to create one epic piece containing a record-shattering 1,117 Marvel characters! In addition to being incredibly talented, Scott is also equally as kind, helping us raise funds for Comics Curing Cancer by donating a sketch cover and working with us and the community to launch new features like our CGC Partnership. Stanley "Artgerm" Lau
The man. The myth. The legend. With over 2 million views on Nerd Crawler since joining 6 months ago, Artgerm sits at the top as the most viewed artist on NC, and with his amazing sketch covers and 31 beautifully drawn pieces for Arttrober 2024, it’s no surprise why he is loved by our entire community. But, we at Nerd Crawler also appreciate him so much because he has helped us make Nerd Crawler better for everyone. Many new features exist because Artgerm gave us the feedback to add them. We’re so lucky to have this partnership with him, and we look forward to even more awesome things in 2025!
