At Nerd Crawler, we’re always working to improve your experience, whether you’re buying, selling, or simply browsing through incredible comic art. We’ve recently rolled out several new features and updates for October that we think you’ll love. Here's what's new:
It’s the most exciting time of the year for collectors! Our Arttrober 2024 auctions are in full swing, and we’re thrilled to showcase work from the one and only Artgerm.
We’ve already dropped Days 1-5, which was a huge success, and we’re now in Days 6-12! You can view all available auctions at nerdcrawler.com/arttrober-2024. Keep checking back weekly for fresh drops throughout the month of October!
We also made a big improvement t how we’re handling bids in the final minutes. Previously, any bid extended an auction by 30 seconds, but we realized that this could interfere with the ability to plan around auction end times. To fix that, we’ve adjusted the rule.
Now, auctions will only extend by 30 seconds if a bid is placed when there are 5 minutes or less remaining. This change ensures more predictable auction timing while still protecting against last-minute sniping.
We’ve squashed a small but significant bug that allowed bids to be placed while an auction was in the process of closing -- like literally in the last 0.15 seconds of an auction ending. To close this loophole, we’ve added a 0.5-second buffer for bids to be considered valid.
So what does this mean for you? Basically, nothing! Just keep bidding with our sliders or setting a max bid, and you'll be fine. But, this update now improves the stability and reliability of our anti-sniping technology to ensure every bid counts when it should.
We’re always striving to make Nerd Crawler as accessible as possible, and now we’re excited to announce that Nerd Crawler is a Progressive Web App (PWA)!
With the PWA, you can:
- Receive push notifications for auctions ending soon with more notifications to come!
- Easily access auctions right from your home screen without opening a browser.
- Enjoy a faster and smoother experience on mobile.
To install the PWA, just visit https://install.page/nerdcrawler and follow the simple steps.
We know how important it is to stay up-to-date with active auctions, especially ones that have a lot of competition. That’s why we’ve added a new “Latest Bids” table to your dashboard. Now, with just one glance, you can see the most recent bids across all auctions and easily click into those with the most action.
Want to show off your collection or share your listings? You can now easily share your Nerd Crawler profile across social channels, email, or even via a QR code. This makes it simpler than ever to connect with other collectors or promote your sales.
Lastly, we’ve tackled several bugs and performance issues including:
- Improved dark mode visibility so all content displays clearly no matter how you prefer to browse.
- Optimized queries to improve site performance, making page loads faster and your browsing experience smoother.
We’re always working to make Nerd Crawler better, and we’re excited about these new features. Whether you’re an artist, a collector, or just browsing for fun, we hope these updates make your time on Nerd Crawler even more enjoyable. If you have any feedback or feature requests, please email us at [email protected] any time!
Happy bidding! 🚀
A valid shipping address and default payment method are required to bid.
Slide the bid slider all the way to the right to make a bid at the suggested amount. Sliding will instantly create a bid, and the next bid amount will be based on the current bid and the next increment:
You can create a max bid to bid automatically for you up to your max bid.
If a bid is made near the end of an auction, the auction end time will be extended by 30 seconds to prevent sniping.
By sliding to bid, you commit to buy the listing if you are the winning bidder. If you are the winner, we will charge your default payment method 24 hours after the auction ends, or you can complete payment early by visiting the order detail page. If your default payment method fails or you fail to make payment for an auction you've won, your account will be at risk of being frozen.
