To make our process even smoother and more secure, we’re introducing a new requirement: bidders must add a credit card on file to bid on auctions that use our escrow service. Here’s what you need to know about this update and how it benefits everyone involved.

Why We’re Making This Change

The decision to require a credit card for auctions using Escrow on Nerd Crawler is driven by our commitment to streamline transactions and enhance security. Here’s how this change will positively impact your auction experience:

1. Easier Escrow Funding and Faster Shipping: By having a credit card on file, buyers can easily fund Escrow 24 hours after they win an auction. This means that if you're busy or forgot, don't worry about it! We'll charge your credit card on file so that the shipping process can start without delay, ensuring that you receive your items faster.

2. Secure Bidding Process: Requiring a credit card adds an extra layer of security to the bidding process. It helps us verify the identity of bidders, reducing the risk of fraudulent activities and ensuring a trustworthy auction environment.

How It Works

• Bidding on Escrow Auctions: To bid on any auction using Nerd Crawler's escrow service, you must have a credit card on file. This requirement is mandatory for auctions using Escrow on Nerd Crawler to ensure a seamless transaction process. 

• Flexible Payment Options: If you win an auction, you have 24 hours to visit the order page for the auction you've won and choose an alternate payment method. We accept US Bank Deposit, PayPal, Klarna, or a different credit card. Your default payment method will only be charged if you do not complete the payment within 24 hours of the auction ending.

• Reduced Payment Hassles: Sellers can rest easy knowing that the payment process is more secure and reliable. With buyers having a credit card on file, there’s less risk of payment issues, allowing for a smoother transaction.

• Pro Plan Flexibility: If you’re a seller on our Pro plan, you still have the option to handle payments outside of Nerd Crawler. However, please note that transactions not processed through our escrow service won’t be eligible for automatic billing of the default payment method.
