Cliff Secord is the Rocketeer. Created by Dave Stevens, Cliff is a stunt pilot who finds a jetpack and becomes a reluctant hero. The art is pure Golden Age nostalgia—clean lines, art deco designs, and 1930s aviation aesthetics. Dave Stevens' art is some of the most sought-after and expensive in the hobby due to his meticulous perfectionism and low output.
Cliff himself is often drawn in his leather flight jacket and the iconic Art Deco helmet. He is not a super-soldier; he's a regular guy who crashes as often as he flies. This vulnerability makes him charming.
His girlfriend Betty is the other half of the comic's appeal. He is mentored by Peevy. He fights Nazis and spies like Neville Sinclair (in the movie adaptation canon).
