Lothar is the brutal, giant henchman of the Rocketeer universe. Visually based on the actor Rondo Hatton (known for his acromegaly features), Lothar is a terrifying presence. In the comics and movie, he is a physical wall that Cliff Secord cannot overcome with fists alone.
Dave Stevens drew him as a monster in a suit, often breaking furniture or bending steel. He is a callback to the classic "creature" villains of the pulp era. He is the muscle for the spies.
He works for Neville Sinclair (in the movie) or the Nazi agents. He is often defeated by the rocket's exhaust or environmental hazards.
