The Master of Magnetism is one of the most complex and compelling characterss in comic history. Magneto (Erik Lehnsherr) is a survivor of the Holocaust who believes that mutants must rule over humans to survive. This tragic backstory gives his art a gravitas that few villains possess. Visually, his helmet is iconic, preventing psychic attacks, and his flowing cape and regal armor make him a favorite for artists who excel at drapery and power poses.

From the Silver Age curves of Jack Kirby to the hyper-detailed cross-hatching of Jim Lee in X-Men #1, Magneto has always demanded presence on the page. Key covers often feature him hovering above the X-Men, controlling metal with outstretched hands. The visualization of his magnetic powers—often shown as energy waves or floating debris—allows for chaotic and exciting backgrounds.

His relationship with Professor X is the core of the X-Men mythos—best friends turned ideological enemies.
