Betty Original Art

Betty is the heart and soul of The Rocketeer. Modeled explicitly after the pin-up queen Bettie Page, she is one of the most famous female characterss in independent comics. Dave Stevens drew her with incredible grace, sex appeal, and personality. She is not just a damsel; she has her own agency and often drives the plot.

Original art of Betty is arguably more valuable than art of the Rocketeer himself. Stevens' "Good Girl Art" (GGA) is legendary. Collectors look for pages where she is modeling or interacting with Cliff Secord. She defines the "cheesecake" aesthetic of the book without being exploitative.

She is Cliff's on-again-off-again girlfriend. Her likeness to Bettie Page helped revive the real model's career in the 80s.
