Lieutenant Kellaway is the hard-boiled detective stuck in a cartoon nightmare. He is the only sane man in the The Mask series. Often injured, bandaged, and grumpy, he chases the Mask wearer relentlessly. At one point, he even wears the Mask himself, becoming a vigilante cop.
He represents the law. Art featuring Kellaway is often noir-ish, showing him in trench coats, smoking, and dealing with the aftermath of Big Head's destruction. He is the Jim Gordon to the Mask's Joker.
He has a complicated relationship with Stanley Ipkiss and Kathy. He hates Walter.
