Howard Hughes Original Art

The eccentric billionaire inventor. Howard Hughes is a real historical figure who plays a key role in The Rocketeer. He is the creator of the jetpack (Cirrus X-3). In the comic, he represents the pinnacle of American ingenuity and aviation. Dave Stevens drew him as the dashing, moustache-wearing industrialist of the 30s.

He serves as a deus ex machina, often stepping in to explain the tech or save the day with his resources. He is the "Tony Stark" of the pulp era (and indeed, Stark's father was based on him).

He respects Peevy and Cliff Secord for returning his invention.
