The Mask Original Art - Page 4

Sssmokin! The Mask (or Big Head) is a chaos engine. Unlike the Jim Carrey movie, the original Dark Horse comics by John Arcudi and Doug Mahnke are ultra-violent, dark, and disturbing. The art style reflects this—it is gritty, with the Mask's cartoon physics inflicting real-world damage. It's a unique blend of Looney Tunes and Splatterpunk.

Mahnke's art is the definitive look—detailed, muscular, and grotesque. Collectors look for the "transformations"—guns popping out of thin air, giant mallets, or the characters's face stretching into impossible shapes. It is a visual playground that stands out from standard superhero books.
